Overview:
Working closely with the Director of Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Engineer II helps to expand, improve, and support the infrastructure and associated services. Primary duties include configuration and administration of core technologies including but not limited to Windows Server, Azure applications and services, Okta, Palo Alto firewalls, enterprise Wi-Fi, VMWare ESXi and Nutanix virtualization. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage infrastructure projects to completion is crucial for this role. As a member of the “One Team” IT department, this role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to support all areas of the business as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Expert level troubleshooting skills related to the network, servers, and business applications in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Microsoft Active Directory Administration – User and group management, Network Services, File Services, Interoperability with M365 / Entra / Azure Environment, on-prem to cloud migration of services.
- Okta SSO environment administration and interoperability with business applications, including authentication and security.
- Ability to design and implement LAN and WAN networks to support future expansion of the network.
- Configure and support Palo Alto firewalls, including security and NAT policies, implement fault tolerance, Prisma access, WAN and VPN configuration.
- Manage VMWare and Nutanix environments – functionality, maintenance, optimization, hardening.
- Collaborate with Director of Cyber Security to implement network and application security hardening and monitoring.
- Understand on-premises and cloud backup solutions.
- Design, implement, and manage Enterprise Wi-Fi solutions.
- Configuring and managing the patching and updating of all on-prem infrastructure hardware across the enterprise.
- Act as level 3 and 4 support on Service Desk escalated issues impacting infrastructure systems and services.
- Support the on-premises video conference room hardware, software, and updates.
- Available as needed to support issues impacting manufacturing including after hours and weekends
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years related corporate experience.
- Mandatory minimum current CCNP or equivalent level certification.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Okta.
- Experience programming Cisco Meraki, Dell, and Brocade switches.
- Experience configuring Meraki and Ubiquity Wi-Fi solutions.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access / Global Protect VPN. Current Palo Alto certification is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft ADS, VMWare ESX and Nutanix virtualization technologies, SQL Server, Terminal Services, Certificate services, authentication management.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and network services such as DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, RADIUS, ACLs, NAT, etc.
- Understanding of multicast networking as applicable to video conference room hardware deployment and support.
- Familiarity with network and endpoint management and security solutions including Intune, Manage Engine, Lansweeper, PRTG, Rapid 7.
- Expert troubleshooting skills including ability to use Wireshark and interpret results.
- Previous knowledge working with validated environments, CGxP, and CFR21 part 11 systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing systems that require change control, and associated documentation.
- Availability evenings and weekends for projects and mission-critical issues.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong Interpersonal and Communications (oral and written) skills.
- Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of various factors.
- Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Technical Knowledge Required:
- Equipment: Experience with switches, firewalls, physical and virtual servers, PCs, scanners, Polycom and Shure video conferencing hardware
